Absorption
When taken orally, about 11% of Azacitidine is absorbed into the bloodstream compared to the subcutaneous route. It reaches peak blood levels approximately one hour after ingestion.
Dosage and Administration
- Do not substitute Azacitidine tablets for intravenous or subcutaneous forms due to different uses and dosages.
- Take Azarest 300 MG orally once daily for the first 14 days of a 28-day cycle, with or without food.
- Continue treatment unless severe side effects occur or the condition worsens.
- Take anti-nausea medication 30 minutes before each dose during the first two cycles. If no nausea or vomiting occurs, the anti-nausea medication can be discontinued in later cycles.
- Do not start a new cycle if the absolute neutrophil count (ANC) is below 0.5 Gi/L. Wait until the ANC is 0.5 Gi/L or higher to begin the cycle.
Instructions
- Do not split, crush, or chew the tablets.
- Take the dose at the same time each day.
- If a dose is missed, take it as soon as possible on the same day. Resume the regular schedule the next day.
- Do not take two doses on the same day. If vomiting occurs after taking a dose, do not take another dose that day. Continue with the next dose as scheduled.
